LastGambit began working as a graphic artist for broadcast television in New Zealand in 2000 creating graphics, 2D animation, and compositing, as well as layout work for associated printed material. Working for a leading New Zealand production company; Taylormade Media, he was a member of the creative team responsible for producing the popular New Zealand children’s television show ‘Squirt’ - untill the show ended in 2006.

LastGambit also works freelance as a graphic designer creating CD and DVD covers, doing character design and illustration, and has produced graphics, props and simple special effects on a number of independent short films.

A fan of creature design, LastGambit completed a Certificate in Advanced SFX Make-up Artistry in 2003 (- with the ultimate goal of creating and sculpting his own designs, and working in the special effects industry).

He has a broad range of skills from design and traditional art including drawing, sculpting, graphics and special effects. He is also proficient in Photoshop and has experience with a range of related graphics software. Currently LastGambit works full time as a graphic artist in Dunedin, New Zealand.

There will always be people that are more skilled than us. All we can do is accept the point that we are at. We (artists in particular) are all our own worst critics, but any creative effort has value and merit regardless of how 'good' we judge it to be... even if we don't think it's great, someone else will think it's awesome...
